Dr. Samy Metyas, MD. MSc, FACR, FACP
Dr Metyas is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology and has a Master’s Degree in orthopedic surgery. He has a private Rheumatology practice in Covina, CA. He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Rheumatology at the University of Southern California (USC), President of California Rheumatology Alliance ( CRA).
Dr. Metyas has multiple publications in renowned peer review journals. He had presented multiple abstracts in the American College of Rheumatology meetings as well as the European Congress of Rheumatology. Dr. Metyas is a member of The Editorial Board of Current Rheumatology Reviews Journal.
Dr Metyas is a Fellow of American College of Rheumatology and The American College of Medicine. He also served as the Chairman, Treasurer and President of Southern California Rheumatology Society for 6 consecutive years.
He received multiple honorable awards including a recognition award from Covina City Mayor for organizing a health fair to serve our community in 2018. Awarded as a super doctor by Los Angeles magazine for Southern California from 2016 until present. Awarded as a Top physician by Los Angeles Magazine in 2018 and the Medical Honoree Award at the Los Angeles Arthritis Walk 2016. He also received Top Doctor Club Member Award in 2014. He was the recipient of the Award of Distinction Leadership by Citrus Valley Health Partners. He was also a recipient of The United States House of Representatives Certificate of Congressional Recognition as well as The California State Senate Certificate of Recognition and The County of Los Angeles Commendation. Dr. Metyas has been acknowledged by his local community when he received The Outstanding Peer Satisfaction Award and nominated for Hospital Hero Award.
Dr. Metyas is conducting multiple clinical trials in different aspects of rheumatology including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, gouty arthritis, low back pain, and osteoarthritis.
He is a national and international speaker for many pharmaceutical companies. He is conducting multiple grand rounds in the surrounding community hospitals as well as seminars for patient education. He is an instructor for the specialty of rheumatology for the Board Review of The American College of Physicians board review course.
Dr. Metyas assembles “The Metyas Hope Team” as a fundraiser for the Los Angeles Arthritis Walk which is a part of the Southern California Arthritis Foundation.
He was interviewed by Tracy Young on Charter Communications HLN local edition and he is a regular guest speaker on multiple TV talk shows which are broadcasted internationally for Arabic speakers about different Rhematological diseases.
Christina Chen, DO, RhMSUS™
Dr. Christina Chen completed Rheumatology fellowship from the University of Southern California – Los Angeles County Medical Center (LAC+USC) after completing a four-year residency in Internal Medicine from Loma Linda University Medical Center. She holds board certifications in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. Her osteopathic medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences has allowed her to take a compassionate and whole-person approach to the care of each unique patient.
Dr. Chen has publications on fibromyalgia, small fiber neuropathy, and infectious arthritis. In addition to treating difficult cases from rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, vasculitis, scleroderma and beyond, her clinical areas of interest also include ultrasound for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Dr. Chen has completed additional training through the Ultrasound School of North American Rheumatologists (USSONAR) and is also a fellow of the American College of Rheumatology.
Dr. Chen’s philosophy of care is to collaborate with patients to make personalized and well-informed medical decisions by sharing current knowledge using evidence-based medicine. She speaks conversational medical Spanish and is committed to working with the diverse community of Los Angeles and San Gabriel Valley areas.
Roshan Patel, MD
Dr. Patel comes to us from Beaver Medical group in Redlands, Ca. He completed his fellowship in Rheumatology/ Immunology at The Ohio State University Medical Center (OSUMC) and residency at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC Health).
Dr Patel earned his medical degree at The Ohio State University at Columbus, Ohio after obtaining his Bachelor degree at UCLA.
He has research interests in diverse rheumatological diseases with multiple publications and poster presentations.
Dr. Patel is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology.
Jennifer Bui PA-C
Jennifer Bui PA-C is originally from San Diego County. She is nationally certified and state licensed PA-C (physician assistant) where she is licensed by the state of California to practice medicine. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from University of California, Irvine majoring in Public Health Sciences. She then continued her education and completed her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Sciences from Keiser University in 2016. She is an active member of California Academy of PAs (CAPA), American Academy of PAs (AAPA), and Association of Rheumatology Health Professionals (ARHP). She is involved in several medical research studies in the field of Rheumatology.
Jennifer believes in patient-centered care where she can collaborate with her patients to achieve and better manage their disease in order to improve their quality of life.
Yanisa Chuenkasamekul, PA-C
Yanisa Chuenkasamekul, PA-C is originally from Los Angeles. She is a nationally certified and state licensed Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) to practice medicine in the state of California. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Riverside where she majored in Biology. She then continued her education and completed her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from California Baptist University. She is an active member of the California Academy of Physician Assistants (CAPA) and the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). She is also involved in rheumatologic research studies.
Yanisa speaks Thai and is committed to providing personalized healthcare by collaborating with patients to formulate care plans to manage their disease and improve their overall well-being.
Ariel Bryant PA-C
Ariel Bryant is originally from the Greater Los Angeles area. She is nationally certified and state licensed to practice medicine as a PA-C (physician assistant) in the state of California.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from California State University, Fullerton. She then furthered her education at California Baptist University with a Master’s of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2019. Currently, She is an active member of both the California Academy of Physician Assistants (CAPA) and the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). Ariel stays up to date in rheumatology through ongoing medical research studies.
